Abstract: Methodological development research whose objective was to develop a massive open online course (MOOC) for nurses on the prevention and treatment of pressure injuries in the elderly, in light of Margaret Newman's Theory. This is methodological research, applied to the development and validation of an online course, based on the five stages of the ADDIE model of instructional design. The first stage involved analysis, with the definition of content based on an integrative literature review: use of nursing theories in the care of elderly people with pressure injuries. The second stage provided the course design, defining learning objectives, activities, duration and course tools. Step three was represented by the creation and editing of open educational resources. In step four, the content and media were hosted in the chosen virtual environment. The fifth stage included content and appearance validation by expert judges. As results, three scientific productions emerged in the format of an integrative review: 1) nursing care continuity strategies, preventive actions and treatment of pressure injuries in elderly people; 2) Assessment and risk factors for the development of pressure injuries in elderly people; 3) Prevention and treatment of pressure injuries in elderly people. 24 technical products were created in teaching material format, comprising: four (4) presentation videos: presentation of the authors, presentation of the course, presentation of modules 1 and 2; six (6) video lessons, three (3) for module 1 and three (3) for module 2. Eight (8) infographics divided between module 1 and module 2; two (2) e-books module 1 and module 2; one (1) case study; one (1) podcast and one (1) Course using the MOOC model Pressure injuries in the elderly: nursing care in light of Margaret Newman's Theory. The MOOC course developed is powerful in strengthening nursing care for elderly people with pressure injuries. Furthermore, it is an innovative teaching strategy for students in the area of health sciences. The systematic application of the theoretical framework of this study, Margaret Newman's Consciousness Expansion Theory, was evident in the training process, since the theorist discusses nursing as a profession and that the training process is established by identity and responds to their practices. The relevance of the study is highlighted as it concerns the development of a theoretical course, in the MOOC model, free of charge, available on a reliable and open platform, in which the course participant can organize themselves to carry out the activities according to their availability. hourly.

ABSTRACT

Parkinson's disease (PD) is a progressive chronic neurodegenerative disorder with a complex pathogenesis involving oxidative stress, neuroinflammation, mitochondrial dysfunction, and other factors. Currently, the clinical treatment of PD mainly includes levodopa, dopamine receptor agonists, monoamine oxidase B inhibitors, catechol-O-methyltransferase inhibitors, and anticholinergic drugs, but there is a lack of disease-modif g therapies that can definitively improve disease progression. According to the understanding of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), PD is characterized by asthenia in origin and sthenia in superficiality. It is primarily caused by liver-kidney Yin deficiency, Qi-blood insufficiency, and closely related to wind, fire, phlegm, and blood stasis. Numerous clinical practices have shown that TCM has significant clinical value in the prevention and treatment of PD, the management of motor and non-motor symptoms, and the neuroprotection of dopaminergic neurons. The underlying mechanisms of TCM include antioxidative stress, anti-neuroinflammation, and regulation of mitochondrial dysfunction. This article categorized and summarized the pathogenesis of PD, systematically elucidated the pharmacological actions and molecular mechanisms of TCM monomer extracts and compounds in the prevention and treatment of PD, and provided the latest clinical research progress, aiming to provide references for the development and clinical use of TCM for PD.

ABSTRACT

The crime of impairing the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases was "activated" in the COVID-19 epidemic that broke out in early 2020. However, the scope of infectious diseases involved in the relevant crimes of the Criminal Law of the People’s Republic of China before the revision was only limited to Category A infectious diseases, and the scope of application should be expanded when used for infectious diseases such as COVID-19. The revised Criminal Law "expands" the scope of infectious diseases involved in the crime from Category A to Category B controlled according to Category A, providing a legal basis for related cases, while the expressions in the new laws are repeated and ambiguous. Whether the criminal subject causes others to be infected is closely related to the sentencing of the crime, but it is still impossible to draw an exclusive conclusion on the causality leading to infection at the technical level. In summary, this paper proposed to correct the cases of inappropriate expansion of the application scope before the amendment of the Criminal Law, revise the improper expression of the new laws while cleaning up the relevant normative documents, clarify the unidentifiable part in the causal relationship of relevant cases and consider it in sentencing process.

ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: Periodontal disease is classified into two main groups: gingivitis and periodontitis, triggered by an alteration of the oral microbiota, which causes an increase in pathogenic microorganisms with respect to the beneficial ones. In interaction with the host and with the risk factors of the patient. They will define a specific clinical presentation. One of the strategies proposed as an alternative to the use of antibiotics and as an adjunct to scraping and root planning (RAR) to treat periodontitis, is the administration of probiotics. Probiotics are living microorganisms that, when administered in adequate amounts, are capable of exerting a beneficial action on the health of the host. Therefore, the objective of this work was to describe the benefit of probiotics in the prevention and treatment of the main periodontal diseases. For this, a search was carried out between 2010 and 2020 in PubMed, Web of Science, SciELO, Science Direct and the Timbó Portal. The results obtained showed that probiotics are capable of reducing the clinical and microbiological parameters of these diseases and that they can be a valuable complement in their prevention and treatment.

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic metabolic disease caused by multiple etiologies.Diabetic retinopathy (DR), as a primary ocular complication of DM, is the leading cause of blindness among working-age adults in the world. With the rapid increase of diabetes incidence worldwide, the diagnosis of DR is often delayed because few symptoms of the retinal vessel-nurse unit lesion are found in early DR.Therefore, the early diagnosis, prevention and treatment of DR are facing much more challenges. At present, the early clinical biomarkers of DR, such as glycosylated hemoglobin and blood glucose, are of great value in predicting and preventing the occurrence and development of DR, but there is still a lack of research on the pathological effect of metabolic heterogeneity and its potential induction of DR.Multi-omics methods, such as metabolomics and single-cell transcriptome, as well as deep learning techniques, are powerful tools for the study of DR pathophysiological processes, which can be used to reveal the metabolic characteristics of DR, discover early biomarkers and new metabolic pathways and identify targets for treatment.Future advances which aim to diagnose and treat DR should consider the metabolic remodeling induced by genetic background and environmental factors comprehensively, combine omics approaches and the measurement of clinical indicators of DR occurrence and development to find biomarkers of early DR and targets so as to achieve early prediction and accurate prevention of DR.

ABSTRACT

The main target organ of 2019 novel coronavirus(2019-nCoV)was the lung and acute respiratory distress syndrome, a life-threatening condition, could happen in severe cases. The main receptor of 2019-nCoV is angiotensin-converting enzyme 2(ACE2). Other receptors reported included CD147, tyrosine protein kinase receptor UFO, Neuropilin-1, Kidney injury molecule-1, et al.When 2019-nCoV is bound with ACE2, the expression of ACE2 would be down-regulated, which causes an increased angiotensin level and consequent lung injury through downstream signals. In addition, 2019-nCoV infection can induce inflammatory cytokine storm, cause coagulation dysfunction, trigger lung epithelial cell apoptosis, et al, which collaboratively contribute to lung injury. The clinical symptoms of 2019-nCoV infection in children are mild, which is thought due to the advantages of children in innate immune response and the low level of adaptive immune response. The fundamental means to prevent and treat lung injury was inhibiting the proliferation and replication of the 2019-nCoV virus, but so far, there are no specific antiviral drugs found yet.Approaches like recombinant human soluble ACE2 protein, neutralizing antibody against protein S, inhibiting angiotensinⅡ, contradicting inflammation factors, or stem cell infusion may be helpful to prevent and alleviate lung injury.
